 Danny Seim began the Lackthereof project in 1997. His other band, Menomena, started as a side project in 2000 and took over because Seim felt less self-conscious as a drummer than as a singer-songwriter. The first six Lackthereof releases were CD-Rs that Seim gave away freely to friends. This ended in 2004, when Portland, OR indie label FILMguerrero released Christian the Christian.
Your anchor, the 9th full-length Lackthereof album, was performed entirely by Seim, and was recorded and mixed in his basement in Portland. It'll be available in July.

Danny Seim, drummer for Menomena and all-around nice guy, took his long-time project Lackthereof to a stage in Portland this past weekend for a rare performance. A short video from the performance (including a brief interview at the end) is up now on the Pampelmoose site — Danny's new album, your anchor, will be out on CD July 22nd (with the LP version out in early September). |
