On Saturday, April 19, independent music stores across the country will be taking part in the first annual Record Store Day, celebrating those wonderful and unique places where music fans can find satisfaction. Several of Barsuk's artists will be taking part in this event be sure to check out your local record store to find out what events they have planned.
Here's where you can find our bands:
- Aqueduct performance at Sonic Boom (Ballard) in Seattle, WA at 4pm
- Mates of State performance at Newbury Comics (on Newbury Street) in Boston, MA at noon
- Menomena foosball tournament at Jackpot Records (SW 9th) in Portland, OR from 1pm to 3pm anyone who beats the band members at foosball will have their name put into a hat; at the end of the tournament, one lucky winner will win a special gift. The band will also be DJ'ing during the event.
- Nada Surf performance at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ 2:30pm
- John Roderick (The Long Winters) DJ set at Sonic Boom (Capitol Hill) in Seattle, WA at 3pm
- Jesse Sykes performance at Easy Street (Queen Anne) in Seattle, WA at 5pm

Nada Surf recently recorded a bunch of songs at the studios of MySpace, and the entire performance including interviews of the band was captured on video. You can watch the videos now on MySpace, or purchase the tracks on iTunes. Barsuk will have a limited number of CDs of these recordings sometime in the near future check back for details.
Also, if you missed the band's performance on NPR's World Cafe, the episode will be re-broadcast next Monday, March 24th check your local NPR station for broadcast times. |

After an as-yet-unspecified appearance at this year's SXSW festival, Nada Surf will be hitting the road to promote their new album, lucky, (out February 5th). They'll be taking The Little Ones on the first half of the tour (on the west coast), and What Made Milwaukee Famous on the second half (mid-west and east coast). Check out the dates here. |
Tune in tonight to Heroes on your local NBC station to hear the debut of a new song from Nada Surf, weightless. The song will also appear on the forthcoming Heroes soundtrack, which will be released early 2008. |

Nada Surf have been busy in the studio these past few months, preparing their fifth record, lucky, set for release February 5th, 2008. The record is filled with songs of restlessness, longing and the elusiveness of love, yet the band beautifully counterbalances its signature lyrical wistfulness with its singular musical buoyancy.
