RAMONA FALLS

BARSUK BANDS

Ramona Falls is Brent Knopf's first solo venture, but he has an extensive musical resume as part of trio Menomena. For the Ramona Falls project (named after a childhood hiking trail on Mt. Hood), Brent collaborated extensively with musicians in Portland and New York. He has a cat, a raging chocolate addiction, and a penchant for weaving acoustic and electronic sounds into songs that feel at once real and surreal. His debut album, intuit, is out now.

Ramona Falls is hitting the road again — this time with Brooklyn's beloved The National. In advance of these dates, today RCRDLBL premiered a remix of russia, one of the standouts from Ramona Falls' debut full-length intuit. This work of remixology was performed by the underground internet phenomenon of Aaron Brink (aka ABX) and Steve Reidell (aka STV SLV), the Chicago-based duo known collectively as The Hood Internet.

If the combination of Ramona Falls and The Hood Internet isn't amazing enough, Weezy himself drops in for a verse to up the ante even more. That's right: Ramona Falls + The Hood Internet + Lil Wayne. Check it out here

Ramona Falls is Brent Knopf's first solo venture, although you probably know him already through his extensive musical resume as part of Menomena. His debut album, intuit, is just the latest example of the off-kilter brilliance that springs from Knopf's extraordinary musical mind, sometimes reminiscent of his Menomena work and sometimes heading out on other explorations.

Download the song i say fever, and pre-order the album from the Barsuk shop now. Ramona Falls will be touring immediately after the album's release (next Tuesday, August 18) in select cities across the US. Also: the fittingly beautiful artwork for the album was created by noted graphic novelist Theo Ellsworth, whose books Capacity and Sleeper Car are also both available in the shop, while supplies last.

THIS JUST IN: New video of Brent Knopf and his pal, Christopher Frogken, announcing the release of intuit can be viewed here.
