The Droo Church began after rock-guitar bookends Fred Speakman and Kwab Copeland expressed mutual admiration for Thin Lizzy many drunken conversations ago. Kwab called up bassist Andrew Church whom he had played with in Vashon Island's infamous Tolstoy Sansam & His Band Of Evil Trolls, and the 3 answered an ad in the "musicians available" section of Seattle's The Stranger newspaper for a "smart-assed girl drummer looking for people who rock" and found Brooke Glass-O'Shay, the smart-assed girl drummer who rocked quite viciously.
After tours with The Supersuckers and The Young Fresh Fellows, and many a memorable show with bands as diverse as The Catheters, Shane McGowan, Joel RL Phelps, The Kent 3, The Murder City Devils, The Fastbacks and lots of others, The Droo Church played what was thought to be their final show in 2002 with Dead Moon. In February 2005 The Droo Church has reformed and is currently writing a new record and planning a series of shows! |
