'YEAR END LISTS ARE THE DEATH OF CULTURE!'- who the f*ck are you mr. Roderick

It's fun to go through cd's/vinyls/books to make a list and it's even greater fun to read other year endlists to get tips.

Here's my list 'best of the decade':

pop:

- Death Cab For Cutie - we have the facts and we're voting yes

- Broken Social Scene - you forgot it in people

- The National - Boxer

- De Portables - Girls Beware!

- Andrew Bird & The Mysterious Production of Eggs

- Pinback - Blue Screen Life

- Menomena - Friend and Foe

- Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid

- Calexico - Hot Rail

- Yeasayer - All Hour Cymbals

Other:

- Vicente Amigo - Ciudad de las Ideas

- The very best of Ethiopiques

- Orchestra Baobab - Specialist in all styles

- Sound Dimension - Mojo Rocksteady Beat

- Tropicalia: a Brazilian revolution in sound

- Inspiration Information: Mulatu Astatke / The Heliocentrics

- Ali Farka Toure - Savane

- Tinariwen - Aman Iman

- Ali Farka Toure & Toumani Diabate - in the heart of the moon

- Tomatito - Aguadulce

Books:

doesn't make much sense to write down my favorite books since I'm Dutch ;-). But if I have to name one English book than it's definitely 'David Mitchell - Cloud Atlas' and for you Americanos I really enjoyed reading George Pelecanos.
