Starting today, Jesse Sykes and Phil Wandscher will be joining Southern rocker and former Drive-By Trucker Jason Isbell, folky soulman Langhorne Slim, and West Coast softies Mimicking Birds for the first annual Paste Tour.

Jesse Sykes' acclaimed albums (Reckless Burning [2003], Oh, My Girl [2004], and Like, Love, Lust & The Open Halls Of The Soul [2007]), were all recorded with her band The Sweet Hereafter and musical partner Phil Wandscher — co-founder (with Ryan Adams) of alt-country stalwarts Whiskeytown. Fragile, sometimes desolate landscapes smoldering with American folk idiom, Spin called her work "riveting porch noir." Sykes has just completed mixing the as yet untitled follow up to Like, Love, Lust & The Open Halls Of The Soul, to be released in early 2011. ·read less·
