The Wooden Birds

Hometown Fantasy

From the album:

While Andrew Kenny's new project recalls his American Analog Set, his songwriting remains mesmerizing and cut with a twisted sense of nostalgia. There is a tenuous balance between the Wooden Birds lulling pull and the songs' lyrical push of disillusion, the band's melodic somnambulism invoking dreamscapes of reflective disappointment and possibilities. Magnolia is easy, earthy, and undoubtedly Southern, like the dusky buzz of summer cicadas. Austin Chronicle
